About us
KFUK-KFUM Global (henceforward called YGlobal) is a solidarity and aid organization owned by Norway’s YWCA-YMCA and YWCA-YMCA Scouts. Together, we work towards a more just world.
At the core of our mission is the belief that poverty and the unequal distribution of resources are byproducts of human-designed systems. Failed policies have perpetuated poverty, but by reshaping policies and consumption patterns, we envision creating a world that champions justice. Our focus extends beyond providing new opportunities – we aim to construct resilient democratic local communities. Through strategic partnerships with local YWCAs and YMCAs, our projects are carefully crafted to address the unique needs of young people and women.
Our actions are guided by the principles of openness, compassion, fairness, and courage. These values not only shape our initiatives but also underpin the decision-making processes that drive our work. We extend an inclusive invitation to all, regardless of religion, ethnicity, orientation, or political persuasion. Love for all people is the cornerstone of our efforts.

The YWCA-YMCA Scouts stands as one of the largest children and youth organizations in Norway, boasting over 11,000 members and 250 local groups spanning the entire country. With a mission centered on nurturing the holistic development of individuals—body, mind, and spirit—the Norwegian YWCA-YMCA aim to assist people in living and flourishing within their Christian beliefs. Additionally, they actively strive to foster greater understanding among diverse individuals. Their commitment extends to mobilizing young people for positive change within both church and community contexts, at both local and global levels.
YWCA and YMCA are present worldwide, spanning over 140 countries, and collectively boast around 70 million members. YGlobal is an integral part of this expansive movement, sharing the fundamental triangle ideology that prioritizes body, mind, and spirit. Both organizations identify with the letter Y as a symbol of their joint mission, hence the name YGlobal in english contexts.
Founded in 1844, YMCA stands as one of the largest and oldest global movements. Its focus is on promoting social justice and peace, with a special emphasis on engaging young people. On the other hand, YWCA operates as a global network of women dedicated to social and economic development across more than 120 countries. Core values for YWCA include volunteerism, diversity, inclusion, and responsibility.
